Genealogy

Researching your family lineage is the first step to becoming a member of DAR. Documentation proving your direct bloodline back to a Patriot ancestor who fought in the American Revolutionary War or who aided in achieving American independence is required. A complete listing of acceptable services can be found on the NSDAR website by clicking here

Trained volunteers of the Agnes Hill Chapter, NSDAR, can assist you in finding the required documentation and guide you through the application process. Do you already have a relative who does or had membership in the DAR?  We can use your relative’s membership application as a starting point for your membership.

Also available to assist you in your research is the DAR Genealogical Research System (GRS), a free resource provided by NSDAR to aid general genealogical research and to assist you in the membership process. The GRS is a collection of databases that provide lineage information amassed by the DAR since its founding in 1890.
